SOW YOUR SEED, DON'T SOW YOUR BREAD.
Seed to the sower, Bread to the eater. Overcomers Newsletter. Vol.4 issue 5.
Hello Reader,
Do you ever care to know the difference between seed and bread and what the Bible means by He gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater in 2 Corinthians 9:10?
Alright, let's delve into it together.
2 Corinthians 9:10
[10]Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,
There's a thin line of understanding in this scripture because how does God expect us to know which one is for sowing and which one is for eating.
Someone will say, it's easy, ask God to give you bread and He'll give you bread.
Ask God to give you seed, and He will give you seed.
NO.
Sometimes we ask God for bread and He gives us seed to sow to provide the bread.
Do you know that Bread is PROCESSED seed? A processed product nolonger possesses the qualities that can cause a seed to produce. Sometimes we sow bread instead of seed unknowingly and wonder why we ain't reaping given that God in His word assured us that whenever we sow A SEED, we'll surely reap a harvest.
Genesis 8:22
[22]“While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.”
So it's a law enforced on the face of the earth. There's no year that passes that has no seed time and harvest time, cold and heat, day and night.
That means it's just like gravity, it doesn't take time off. It's constantly in motion.
When you sow bread, the devil can not even be perturbed, it knows there's no ability in bread to produce anything. Your bread is the product of your seed. (I think now you're getting the vision of today's topic)
You can make bread out of your seed but you can not make seed out of your bread.
WHAT THEN IS BREAD?
Let me explain with an example. When you sow a seed on an alter, especially for something you're believing God for and later God comes through for you with a breakthrough. THAT BECOMES BREAD TO THE EATER.
It may not necessarily be money, when you sow the word of God to the ground, water by prayer and the word is made flesh, that becomes bread. (I feel like you should read this more than twice to soak in this revelation).
That's what the Bible means when it says God gives bread to the eater but Bread is PROCESSED seed. Sometimes you can ask for bread directly, The Bible says, give us this day our daily bread, not our daily seed.
When you sow your bread, it's like you're just doing Charity, you're just being Kind. I think I just answered a question here because someone will ask, what if God blesses me (gives me bread) and I use it to bless someone.
There's a difference between blessing someone and sowing a seed. When you label your offering a seed, it means you're expecting a harvest, bit it physical or Spiritual.
Sometimes you're led to give but it's not seed and many times such leadings of the Holy Spirit blesses you Spiritually not physically.
SO WHAT THEN IS A SEED?.
This time let me start with a scripture.
Give me Isaiah 55:10
[10]“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
Let me give an example based on something I did four years ago, I was taking a walk around the neighborhood one evening at around 5pm when kids were heading home and I passed via a Primary school, it was a government school and I noticed the children could use some help, knowing very well I don't have that kind of help to offer, I went straight to God and asked for A SEED. I called it a seed because I was gonna sow into something, it's not for me.
As I was taking the blessings to the school, I was going there with the gospel too. A great investment. My aim was to buy shoes, bags and books because I noticed they were using torn shoes and bags.
A seed is unprocessed bread. Raw materials. Your hard earned pay is a seed. You can also ask God directly for a seed.
For example, your church has a project and you really want to give but you genuinely don't have anything. That desire to give was instilled by God in your spirit to ask for a seed. Remember He gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater. That means He's able to give you a seed to sow.
The Holy Spirit just reminded of something, Jesus the the seed and He's also the Harvest 🔥. He's the one who gives the seed, He's also the one who brings the harvest. Hallelujah!
So my dear Reader, it's VERY VERY important to differentiate between seed and bread.
The eater and the sower are not receiving the same thing, the sower has the ability to receive greater harvest (bread) Each time he shows, God gives increase. On the other hand, the eater only receives enough bread to see him through the day or season.
This is exactly why God instructed the Israelites to collect enough manna for the day only. They were eaters, they had not sown anything to harvest from, it was only out of God's mercy that God provided for them.
Now that you learnt the difference between seed and bread. If you're looking for a harvest, learn to sow seeds and not bread. Hallelujah!
May this word bless you and give you understanding to walk in light, in Jesus name. Amen.
Shalom! 🤍
What a life changing revelation! 😭 Thank you Min. Sidonia, we're learning 🙏
Greetings woman of God,
My name is Benson. I have a question about seed and bread.
According to what I understood about the above topic. So when you sow a seed then get a bread are you supposed to give tithe from the bread??
